This is shameful.
Honestly, are people really still this ignorant and misguided when it comes to homosexuality? The principal from Irmo High School (which just happens to be about ten miles down the road) is stepping down because his student body formed a BGLSA group. He knows that trying to stop this group would garner a lawsuit he would most certainly use, so in protest, he is stepping down from the post. His reasoning is absolutely ridiculous, and I think he should be absolutely and horribly ashamed for making such sick, generalized statements against a group of students who probably already have enough issues to deal with from their families and their peers. Now, it is probably better to have him step down rather than have a principal who doesn’t support this organization, but it’s the reasons he gave for his lack of support - what a fucking idiot.
